I have been busy today writing up a technique to be used for flying ‘Touch and Go’ circuits at the old Hong Kong Kai-Tak airport.
Even though we are in the virtual aviation business, please believe me, when I tell you this is as ‘Real As It Gets’ flight simulation! One of our repeat customers enjoys challenging himself and honing his skills; previously we flew the VOR DME approach for runway 21 into Lanzarote and now we move onto the old Hong Kong. The famous checkerboard approach onto runway 13 with numerous skyscrapers and mountains located to the north and its only runway jutting out into Victoria Harbour, is a ‘Real’ challenge. Landings at the airport were dramatic to experience and technically demanding for pilots; indeed the History Channel program Most Extreme Airports ranked it as the 6th most dangerous airport in the world!!!!
